Play on the Terrace Stage

One Last Run

One Last Run

While this may not be the most typical Buckyet List item, having the opportunity to perform on the iconic Memorial Union Terrace’s stage is something I’m pretty excited about.  It hasn’t quite happened yet, but why not put some shameless self-promotion out there?

Snake on the Lake Fest is a music festival put on by the award winning and student run radio station WSUM 91.7 annually since 2007.  Each year it draws huge crowds to the Terrace with some big name acts, and this year WSUM opened up three opening act positions to the public in the form of a song submission contest.  Long story short: the 3 songs with the most votes got those slots and my band, One Last Run ,came out on top! (Thanks to all who voted!) Local bands Wild Rose Harmonic and The Daze got the other 2 spots.

I’ve never been to Snake on the Lake Fest but given the Union and Madison’s live music scene it’s sure to be a good time with a solid line up and location.  Our band has a similar sound to bands like Paramore, Taking Back Sunday and Anberlin. To get a better idea of us, take some progressive riffs, rockin’ drums, classic/metal influenced lead guitar, top it off with some edgy double vocals and a side of gravy and you have us. It will only be our third show, so its pretty huge for us to be able to share the stage with some bigger names!  I’ll consider it a good omen of things to come for senior year!

Snake on the Lake starts at 6 p.m. (rather than 7 p.m. as stated on the poster) on Friday, Sep 21.
