Be a Kid at Adult Swim

Sign: Madison is heaven on earthThis past Friday night I went to the Children’s Museum on the square for an adult swim night. The concept is that there are no kids allowed and adults can act like kids for a few hours. I’ve never been in the Museum before and I was so surprised at everything there is to do there! There were plenty of activities and arts and crafts for us to do, including making paper, hula hoops, prints and leis. On the first floor there is a huge play area that is made to look like you are climbing on a spine when you look up at it. Even though we had to duck a lot to fit through anything, it was so much fun!

We also got to make s’mores outside at the log cabin, which we found out was actually used back in the olden days as someone’s house! Even though it was a little warm, you can’t pass up free s’mores.

Another fun part of the Museum is all the interactive areas, like a human hamster wheel, a space shuttle and a jungle gym. There was also a paint wall and a man drawing and selling caricatures!

My favorite part of the night was going up to the rooftop deck and getting a phenomenal view of both the capitol building and the lake. With the sunset, it was an unforgettable view that I tried to capture with a photo!

The museum hosts adult swim every other month, so the next one will be in August. It was only $12 for a fun-filled night of acting like a kid again. I definitely want to go back and take my little sister so she can enjoy it even more than I did!
