Hang out on a Roof

Madison County at the Monona Terrace

Madison County at the Monona Terrace

There is no better way to celebrate Flag Day and America than by listening to a country band on a roof. Every Thursday, Concerts on the Rooftop takes place atop the Monona Terrace. This week local band Madison County performed and put on a great show for a huge group on a completely packed roof.

Guitars I put on my best Flag Day shirt and headed to the concert with a group of my friends. Even some non-country loving friends came out to enjoy the concert and the gorgeous view of both the Capitol and Lake Monona.

I highly recommend making a trip to the Monona Terrace to check out the view, as it’s only a 10 minute walk from campus.

The group played a handful of my favorite songs, including some from Eric Church and Jason Aldean. The concert ended as the sun finally went down in front of the Captiol, with one of the most American country songs – Toby Keith’s Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.
