It’s the middle of June and the summer festival and music season is well underway. Here are a few of the outdoor events happening this weekend — a great way to show off Madison to dads visiting for Fathers’ Day.

1. Concerts on the Rooftop – Start your weekend Thursday, with free outdoor concert at the Monona Terrace. Enjoy one of the best views in Madison, overlooking Lake Monona, while listening to local country band, Madison County. The performance is from 7-9pm.

2. Madison Mallards Baseball Game – The Madison Mallards are in town for a five game homestand. Some of this weekend’s giveaways are temporary tattoos, bobbleheads, playing cards and grill gloves. Other promotions include fireworks after Saturday’s game and two free Duck Blind tickets for fans who get inked during Thursday’s Custom Tatoo Night. Find more information about game times and tickets here.

3. Fruit Fest – Madison’s annual LGBTQI Summer Music Festival will be held Saturday in the heart of Willy Street. The all-day celebration will feature headliner Cazwell, and other folk musicians, punk bands, DJs and drag queens. The festival also includes the Fruit Loop 5K and Star Fruit karaoke competition. For more information check out the Fruit Fest website.

4. Jazz in the Park – This Saturday Wingra Park will turn into the ultimate jazz scene with live music performances from 2-9pm. Other events throughout the day include the “It’s My Lake 5K”, Lake Wingra Clean Up, log rolling and craft-making. For directions and performance times, check the Jazz at Wingra website.
